{"id":113283,"date":"2023-08-01T12:19:09","date_gmt":"2023-08-01T18:19:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.craftbeer.com\/?page_id=113283"},"modified":"2023-08-01T12:19:58","modified_gmt":"2023-08-01T18:19:58","slug":"mentorship-program","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.craftbeer.com\/beer\/mentorship-program","title":{"rendered":"Mentorship Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Brewers Association Mentorship Program offers aspiring and advancing craft beer employees focused mentoring relationships with a diverse group of skilled craft brewing professionals.<\/p>\n<p>Participants in the program will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Gain practical knowledge that is universally valuable in brewery environments<\/li>\n<li>Develop relationships<\/li>\n<li>Receive access to Brewers Association resources<\/li>\n<li>Gain exposure to the \u201ccommunity and culture\u201d of the craft beer industry<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Participants complete a 12-week virtual mentorship program. The program begins with a one-week orientation, included 9 weeks of structured mentoring with a group of experienced industry leaders, and closes with two weeks of offboarding and professional planning. The 9-week mentorship period is divided into three, three-week rotations. Each rotation is spent with a different mentor in specific areas of expertise that may include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Technical Brewing<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-113299 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.craftbeer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/20230731171414\/mentorship-program-page.jpg\" alt=\"person pouring beet from bar tap\" width=\"456\" height=\"344\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Serving and Tasting Beer<\/li>\n<li>Guest Experience<\/li>\n<li>Brewery Safety<\/li>\n<li>Event Planning and Management<\/li>\n<li>Human Resources<\/li>\n<li>Management<\/li>\n<li>Brewery Operations<\/li>\n<li>Marketing and Branding<\/li>\n<li>Sales and Distribution<\/li>\n<li>Brewery Finance<\/li>\n<li>Quality<\/li>\n<li>Business Plan Development<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Mentorship Tracks<\/h2>\n<p>The Brewers Association mentorship program offers three different tracks to support aspiring and advancing craft beer professionals at multiple stages of career development.<\/p>\n<p>The\u202f<strong>Aspiring Professionals<\/strong>\u202f track is for those who are new to the craft beer community and have little to no work experience in the industry. This mentorship track pairs participants with experienced professionals that will provide a broad introduction to the craft brewing industry.<\/p>\n<p>The\u202f<strong>Advancing Professionals<\/strong>\u202ftrack is for those who currently work in the industry and seek to advance, expand, or change their career trajectories. This mentorship track pairs participants with experienced professionals that will provide tailored mentorship in one of three areas of specialization: production, guest experience, and brewery administration.<\/p>\n<p>The<strong>\u202fBrewery Start-up<\/strong>\u202ftrack is for those who aspire to start a brewery and have taken tangible steps toward doing so, and for breweries that have operated for less than one year.
